The Northern Sydney Institute is the first TAFE NSW Institute to have course information publicly available on its website for 2015 – ahead of the NSW Government’s Smart and Skilled reform.
With the implementation of Smart and Skilled on 1 January 2015, there will be a major overhaul in vocational education and training across the state.
Smart and Skilled aims to ensure that people can access great training at centres such as the Northern Sydney Institute, in courses that will give them the best possible career opportunities.
The NSW Government will continue to subsidise many vocational education courses – just as they do now. They pay part of the fee for your course, and you will pay the other part. The difference will be which courses are subsidised, by how much, who is eligible and how the fees are paid.
The subsidised courses are listed in the 2015 Skills List, which is available at the State Training Services website.
Regardless of whether a course is listed on the 2015 Skills List or not, the Northern Sydney Institute is committed to providing the same premium training and educational experience in all of the courses offered and to produce the same high level of job ready graduates.
A ‘Register Your Interest’ button is now available against every the Northern Sydney Institute course offered in 2015 and will record interested student details. This allows the Institute to communicate with every customer as soon as the new Student Administration and Learning Management (SALM) system has been rolled out and the Smart and Skilled tender outcome has been finalised.
