The inaugural World Skills Regional Game Design and Development competition was held on Thursday October 15th at St Leonards Campus. Competitors had under 9 hours to create a game around a sustainable energy theme.
Gold and Bronze prizes went to Sean Brennan and Raymond Cripps of NSI, and Silver went to Kyle McArthur of AIE.
A high level of professionalism and skill was evident on the day, with competitors calmly crafting their designs and games with what seemed to be an impossible brief.
Within the time period, competitors had to:
- Write a Game Design Document
- Create screen mock-ups
- Develop a working game
A variety of game designs were produced, all around the theme of energy use and sustainability.
Now that a Regional has been held, there will likely be a National competition next year, and International in 2017.
Well done to all participants!
