A former IT telecommunications employee, Mark Benson decided to take his passion for the environment one step further and enrolled in the Certificate IV in Business Sustainability Assessment pilot program at NSI’s Hornsby College.

Since completing the course earlier this year, Mark has begun working as the Commercial Sales Manager at Green Solar Solutions.

Confident he can make a difference and educate others on how to apply sustainable solutions, Mark says completing the course paved the way forward for him.

“I made a conscious decision to complete the course and move into the green industry because I wanted to work for a company that was part of the solution, not the problem,” he said.

“The course has given me a framework in which to work and a language I can use when dealing with customers. When dealing with customers, it helps if you can speak the language of sustainability.”

Mark said the course was a great option for anyone interested in working in the business sustainability sector.

“There was a great camaraderie with everyone involved, and everyone was very committed. I also increased my own professional networks as a result of completing the course, which was great.”

The Certificate IV in Business Sustainability Assessment is currently being offered at NSI’s Hornsby College.
