The Northern Sydney Institute recently held ‘Partnering for Success’ – a business lunch to say thank you to business and industry partners for their on-going support and friendship.
Current and future prospective business partners had the opportunity to network with Institute representatives and marketing executives.
Guests enjoyed lunch prepared by Ryde Campus Commercial Cookery students and even enjoyed time out for the ‘The Marshmallow Challenge’ – a great team building experience.
Each table of guests was equipped with 20 sticks of uncooked spaghetti pasta, one metre of sticky-tape, one metre of string and a marshmallow.
Teams then had to put their engineering skills to work and together create a tall standing structure.

The day concluded with a special address given by two of the Institute’s long standing business partners: Kimberly Bishop, Human Resources Administrator from Parramatta City Council and Jeff Swilks, Manager Infostructure, Works and Services from Marrickville Council.
The Northern Sydney Institute’s Sales and Funding Manager Karl King said the day was a great opportunity to acknowledge the vibrant relationships shared with key business partners.
“It was an opportunity for people to immerse themselves in a partnership experience, to share their experiences with fellow business representatives and look towards future opportunities. Very rarely do businesses have the opportunity to get together with their business partners and clients and thank them for loyalty and support," he said.
“Our relationships with clients and employers in the community is integral to the development of our business, and the delivery of quality education.
Karl received positive feedback regarding the event – and was hoping to create another similar event in the future.
“The response we received from our guests saying thank you for the experience was amazing. Our clients have commented on how fantastic it was to be acknowledged and considered,” said Karl.
